Jianming Ji, with the stage name of Nanye, was born in 1969 in the ancient water town, Tongli. He is a member of Chinese Folk Literature and Art Association, Folk Literature and Art Association of Jiangsu Province, Chinese Culture Promotion Society. He is one of the directors of Folk Art Association of Suzhou.
In Aug. 2001, he founded the "South Spring" Paper-cut Studio in the Retreat and Meditation Garden.
In Jan. 2006, his paper-cut works of "Chinese Zodiac" was exhibited in Suzhou Library. He is also invited there for on-site demonstration. The pattern of "Chinese Zodiac" is selected as Postmark by Wujiang Post.
In Oct. 2007, Lisk Derik, the chairman of Folk Literature and Art Group of UNESCO international and Ping Chen, the chairwoman of that organization in China watched Jianming Ji's demonstration in the Retreat and Meditation Garden. They appreciated and collected his works "Happy Family".
In Jun. 2010, he took part in the Exhibition of Shanghai Expo and held on-site demonstration.
In Nov. 2010, on the award ceremony of the ninth contest of beauty from water town held by CCTV, Jianming Ji demonstrated the cutting of 《Puan Bridge》, which is typical scenery of Tongli.
On Lantern Festival of 2011, in the New Year's Concert, Jianming Ji once again was invited to the big stage of "Celebrating Lantern Festival of Golden Age ". He demonstrated the cutting of "Good luck in Rabbit Year" on the stage and presented the paper-cut skill to audience across the country.
In Mar. 2011, his works of "Double Happiness" was awarded national Silver Prize on the fourth Tonglu "Charming China" contest.
In Apr. 2012, Jianming Ji presented himself once again on the first Exhibition of Culture & Creativity, Suzhou. During the visit of Mr. Tang Zhongyin, the famous Chinese-American Philanthropist, accomplished by the vice major of Suzhou, Xu Ming, Jianming Ji demonstrated the cutting of a zodiac-horse. Meanwhile, he presented the works of "The Love of Wujiang" to Mr. Tang as a gift.
In Apr. 2012, he founded the "Ji Jianming Paper-cut Art Museum" and registered the "South Spring" Paper-cut cultural development Co.,Ltd.
In Aug. 2012, his "Three Bridge in Tongli" was awarded silver prize on the seventh Changchun Folk Art Exhibition.
